Education and Certification Requirements
- High School
- Technical diplomas or higher education considered an asset
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 1.5 years of sales experience is mandatory
Skills and Ability Requirements
- Enjoys talking to people.
- Excellent spoken English. Ability to establish immediate rapport with prospective customers. Ability to provide consultative sales approach.
- Excellent written English. Ability to create intuitive written responses to objections and questions.
- General computer knowledge and confidence using a wide range of common Internet applications (Facebook, Hotmail, etc.)
- Is capable of understanding the nature of problems, and of putting together simple answers quickly. Is capable of turning potential problems into advantages and selling features.
- Possesses logical thinking skills and can reason through objections and business requirements quickly.
- Pays meticulous attention to organization and can handle, and deliver timely results upon, many simultaneous projects. Seeks out information quickly and efficiently, and constantly improves efficiency of the sales process. Is extremely disciplined.
- Makes reasonable decisions quickly, and autonomously, based on internal and external requirements. Makes decisions based on what is the most efficient way to respond to external and internal demands.
- Manages time impeccably. Reliably delivers according to agreed-upon deadlines. Contributes to all aspects of the department, including management policy.
- Candidate is confident and able to offer and implement insightful policies in the department. Candidate works well with a team.
Position Duties
- Sell our products
- Learn about the real estate industry and how RealPageMaker’s products are most effectively used by our customers
- Use our marketing tools to contact prospects and make new sales
- Contribute to sales plans and policies
- Aggressively pursue new sales opportunities and support your existing customers
- Cold call to prospective customers needing our products
- Constantly refine sales approach based on customer demands
- Contribute to team refinement discussions
- Conduct consultative sales (NOT scripted)
- Respond to phone and email inquiries from prospective and existing customers
- Coordinate customer service calls for your portfolio of customers, providing tutorials to new accounts, prospecting for referral business
- Provide quotes to customers
- Consistently meet or exceed sales expectations
- Bring customer feedback to the team to make sure our product remains the best in the industry
- Have the opportunity to attend industry trade shows in cities across North America
- Fully document all new processes, and changes to existing processes, in our knowledge base
- Conduct yourself according to company policy and procedures

Compensation
- Competitive salary – first year compensation ranges between $40k – $65k depending on performance
- Year-upon-year growth in compensation is 35% (second year compensation is $55k – $92k depending on performance)
